This will leave you with a fresh and youthful look that lasts up to five months before needing re-treatment!

Wrinkle relaxers are one of our most popular cosmetic treatments thanks to their smoothing, youthful effects.

Repetitive facial expressions, such as squinting, frowning, or smiling, can contribute to the development of dynamic wrinkles. Over time, these repeated muscle contractions can cause lines and creases to form in areas like the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (frown lines).

Wrinkle relaxers work by blocking the signals from the nerves to facial muscles, preventing the muscles from contracting. As the muscle is weakened, the appearance of existing wrinkles is reduced, and the formation of new wrinkles becomes less likely.

At SKYN, we’re passionate about delivering natural results that work with your natural features, not against them. The most common areas we treat with wrinkle relaxers include:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Chin creases and dimples
  • Upper lip lines
  • Frown lines

We also offer muscle relaxant treatments for jawline slimming (also known as masseter reduction) and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). If you’re interested in any of our treatments, or want to learn more, be sure to contact our friendly and knowledgeable team today, and we’ll help get you started!

Common Wrinkle Relaxers Questions

Wrinkle relaxers weaken the injected muscle over time, which leads in turn to a reduction in the overall size.

At your consultation, our Talent will examine your facial muscles to determine if you are the right candidate for treatment, as not all clients will see the same aesthetic effects.

This is a simple and quick process, approximately 10-15 minutes.

Botulinum toxin is approved for severe sweating when topical agents don’t work. Botulinum toxin treatment helps to control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.

You should notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating within four weeks of your first treatment. There is a possibility that some sweat glands may be missed, and you may continue to experience some sweating from the untreated areas, we recommend that all clients return for a review appointment 4 weeks following their initial treatment.

Axilla is an anatomy term that refers to the underarm or armpit area. Axillary hyperhidrosis refers to excessive underarm sweating. The exact cause of the condition is disputed. Some experts feel it has to do with the size of the sweat glands, some feel it is related to over-activity of the sweat glands and others feel it is stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system.

Hyperhidrosis is a disorder characterised by excessive uncontrollable sweating in excess of the amount required to regulate body temperature. Primary hyperhidrosis has no discernible cause and may involve the axillae (armpits), palms (hands), soles (feet), face, and groin.

The masseter muscle originates from the zygomatic arch (cheekbone) and inserts into the mandible (lower jawbone). It is the primary muscle used during the closing of the jaw, and it is considered one of the strongest muscles in the human body in terms of its size and function.

Problems with the masseter muscle, such as muscle tension, can lead to conditions like temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), which can cause pain and difficulty in jaw movement

Masseter reduction aims at to reduce the size of the masseter muscles in the face. This procedure can be done for aesthetic purposes to achieve a slimmer facial appearance. Patients may opt for masseter slimming if they have a square-shaped face due to enlarged masseter muscles or if they grind their teeth, leading to hypertrophy (enlargement) of these muscles. Not everyone will experience this change, suitability will be discussed with your Practitioner during consultation

At SKYN, we charge for wrinkle relaxer injections by the unit, starting at $4.50 per unit. For more information about our wrinkle relaxer costs, please see our price list, or get in touch with us at 08 9389 9022.

At SKYN, our aim is to provide the most effective results while maintaining a natural appearance. Our wrinkle relaxer treatments will never make you appear ‘frozen’ or unable to create facial expressions – in fact, many of our clients reported being told they looked more approachable and friendly thanks to the diminished appearance of frown lines and furrows!

After your wrinkle relaxer procedure, you can expect to see initial results in just two to seven days and optimal results in two weeks.

Post-wrinkle relaxers, you can return to your normal activities right away. You may experience a mild level of swelling, redness, or bruising at the site of injection, but these may be minimised by taking the following steps:

  • Apply ice to reduce discomfort, swelling and bruising
  • Avoid any heavy exercise or heat-inducing activities for 24 hours
  • Do not apply makeup to the treated area for 24 hours
  • Do not rub or massage the injected area for 24 hours
  • Do not receive facial treatments such as lasers or peels for two weeks post-treatment.

At your appointment, your nurse will provide you with thorough after-care instructions and happily answer any questions you may have.

There are always risks associated with injectables, and it’s important to trust the Practitioner performing your wrinkle relaxer treatment. At SKYN, we use a medical-grade injectable at the appropriate dosage, injected by highly-trained Practitioners.
