ZO Skin Heath Offects TE Pads & Why Salicylic Acid Isn’t Just For Preventing Breakouts
I’ve recently introduced the ZO Skin Health Offects TE Pads into my skincare routine and this has turned out to be a wise move. My skin has become significantly clearer, fresher and smoother in the 6 weeks I’ve been using it. The main ingredient in the Offects TE Pads is Salicylic Acid and there’s so much to say about why I love and recommend them that I thought I’d divide up the info into sections to make it more digestible.
What is Salicylic Acid & How Does it Work?
Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that’s best known for preventing and treating acne and breakouts.
It does this by dissolving the hardened sebum in pores that leads to black heads, white heads and spots.
It also penetrates through the pores and kills off bacteria as well as inhibiting further bacteria growth by lowering the pH level of the skin.
What Are The Main Differences Between AHAs and BHAs
Both AHAs and BHAs are great exfoliators and this leads to accelerated cell turnover.
The difference is that AHAs are water-soluble and only work on the outermost skin layer but BHAs are lipid-soluble and can penetrate more deeply which results in smoother skin.
BHA’s are gentler than AHAs and have an anti-inflammatory action so they’re more suitable for sensitive and rosacea prone skin.
Interestingly, Salicylic Acid also seems to have a similar rejuvenating effect to retinol but is much more easily tolerated.
Why Choose ZO Skin Health Offects TE Pads?
Along with the optimal 2% concentration of Salicylic Acid, the Offects TE Pads also contain other beneficial ingredients such as Gylcolic Acid and Botanical Extracts.
The pads are easy to use and take the guesswork out of how much product you need to apply.
Offects TE Pads are very competitively priced at £29 for 60 pads. Even better the pads can be split into 2 so you get 120 applications . The solution comes separately and you pour it over the pads before you use it for the first time.
How often Should I Use The TE Pads?
This depends on need. The skin on my chin is slightly congested and I’m prone to blackheads on my nose so I use the TE Pads 2/3 times a week on these problem areas as well as my cheeks and forehead for their preventative and restoring actions. Those with acne, breakouts and more severe blackheads and whiteheads can build up to using the pads as often as twice a day.
